BENGALURU: Defence public sector BEL’s order book as on January 1, 2017, stood at ₹33,806 crore. During the third quarter (Q3) of the financial year 2016-17, the company had acquired new orders worth ₹1,089 crore. Major orders acquired during Q3 were advanced landing ground communication terminal, shipborne signals intelligence system, voter verified paper audit trail and annual maintenance contract for Rukmani system. On the export front, order book stood at $105.29 million and export turnover during Q3 of 2016-17 is $13.69 million. Major supplies bagged by BEL are radio relay frequency (LB), hand-held thermal imager with laser range finder, fire control systems, Akash Weapon System (for Army), 3D tactical control radar, L70 gun upgrade and weapon locating radar.
